Sony has updated the Last Chance to Play section of the PS Plus tab on PS5, and eight games leave the Extra and Premium catalogues on 20 October 2026.
The full list
| Game | Platforms |
|---|---|
| Silent Hill 2 | PS5 |
| Yakuza: Like a Dragon | PS5, PS4 |
| Jurassic World Evolution 2 | PS5, PS4 |
| Gloomhaven: Mercenaries Edition | PS5, PS4 |
| Lake | PS5, PS4 |
| Rogue Lords | PS4 |
| Death Squared | PS4 |
| Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition | PS4 |
Three of these are region-dependent. Lake, Death Squared and Harvest Moon: Light of Hope are listed as leaving in select regions rather than everywhere, so check your own Last Chance to Play section on the console rather than trusting any list — including this one — for those three.
One housekeeping note, because you will see both numbers circulating: Push Square's headline says seven removals while its own article lists eight. PlayStation Universe and PlayStation LifeStyle independently name the same eight titles. It is eight.
This is the part people get wrong
Removals from Extra and Premium are not like the monthly Essential games, and the difference costs real money if you misunderstand it.
Essential games are yours to keep. Redeem them while they are the monthly offering and they stay in your library for as long as you hold any PS Plus subscription, long after they stop being the featured games. We covered that mechanic in how PS Plus monthly games work.
Extra and Premium catalogue games are not. As Push Square puts it, "the PS Plus Extra tier revokes access once the titles depart." Adding Silent Hill 2 to your library before the deadline does nothing. On 20 October it stops launching, and the only routes back are buying it or waiting for it to return to the catalogue, which may never happen.
If you are unclear on which tier you are on and what each one actually entitles you to, PS Plus tiers explained and game catalog vs monthly games are the two to read first.
What happens to your trophies and saves
Your trophies stay. Anything you have already unlocked remains on your profile permanently. A game leaving the catalogue does not touch your trophy list, your completion percentage or your level — and it does not strip a platinum you earned. The full mechanics, including what happens to an unfinished list you want to return to later, are in what happens to trophies when a game leaves PS Plus.
Your saves stay too, sitting in cloud or local storage. They are just unreachable until you own the game again, at which point they work normally. That is genuinely worth knowing before you decide whether to rush a playthrough: an abandoned save is not a wasted one.
The two worth your remaining time
Silent Hill 2 is the obvious one, and the timing is strange. Bloober Team's remake gets pulled from the catalogue roughly four weeks after Silent Hill: Townfall launched on 24 September to the series' best-received reviews in years — our Townfall score roundup has that breakdown. Anyone who played Townfall and wanted to work backwards through the series has until 20 October to do it free. It is a 15-to-20 hour game. That is comfortable, but not if you start on the 19th.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the harder call. It is the series' turn-based reinvention and widely regarded as one of its best entries, but it is also 40-plus hours before you go anywhere near the substories. Three weeks is not a realistic window for most people. If it has been sitting in your backlog, be honest about whether you are actually going to finish it — and if the answer is no, it goes on sale regularly enough that waiting costs little.
What arrives the same day
The removals are not a net loss. 20 October is also when the October Extra and Premium additions land, with the full lineup revealed on 14 October. One title is already confirmed: Mycopunk, a four-player mission-based looter shooter, arrives on PS Plus Extra and Premium on day one, on 20 October.
On the Essential side, the October monthly games are expected to be revealed on 30 September and to go live on 6 October. There are no credible leaks for that lineup, so treat anything you see claiming otherwise with suspicion.
Our September Extra and Premium additions piece has the current catalogue if you want to see what is still there.
The short version
Eight games, gone 20 October, and Extra and Premium do not let you keep them. Silent Hill 2 is the one to prioritise because it is finishable in the time you have. Check the Last Chance to Play tab on your own console for the three region-dependent titles. Your trophies and saves survive either way.
Written 28 September 2026. Removal list per Sony's Last Chance to Play section as reported on 15-16 September; check your own console for regional variations.
