PSN.GG COMMUNITY RULES
PLAYSTATION NATION · COMMUNITY STANDARD

Welcome to the PSN.GG community.

PSN.GG is built for PlayStation players, trophy hunters, collectors, creators, and gaming communities. These rules exist to keep discussions useful, welcoming, secure, and fair.

By registering, posting, reacting, sending private messages, editing your profile, or using another PSN.GG feature, you agree to follow these rules and the PSN.GG Acceptable Use Policy.

Not reading the rules does not exempt an account from enforcement.

RULES DIRECTORY
  • Respect and member conduct
  • Prohibited and unsafe content
  • Posting quality and forum organization
  • Links, media, embeds, spam, and promotion
  • Accounts, usernames, identity, and security
  • PlayStation and trophy integrity
  • Store, payments, and digital downloads
  • Profiles, avatars, signatures, and messages
  • Moderation, reports, penalties, and appeals

CORE STANDARD
  • Follow moderator instructions and use the appeal process when you disagree.
  • Do not manipulate accounts, reputation, reactions, trophies, or site systems.
  • Keep adult, dangerous, fraudulent, and illegal material off PSN.GG.
  • Post content that contributes to the discussion.
  • Treat other members like real people.

A simple test: If your post exists primarily to harass, deceive, shock, advertise, manipulate, or disrupt, it probably does not belong on PSN.GG.

Rules may be updated as PSN.GG grows. Material changes will be announced, and the latest published version applies across the website and official PSN.GG applications.

Continue through the replies below for the complete rules.

01 · RESPECT AND MEMBER CONDUCT

Disagreement is allowed. Personal abuse is not.

Members may debate games, developers, platforms, trophies, reviews, industry news, and community decisions. Criticism should address the subject instead of attacking the person posting it.

EXPECTED CONDUCT

  • Discuss ideas in good faith.[]Allow other members to have different opinions and preferences.
  • Use clear criticism without turning discussions into personal fights.
  • Respect requests to stop unwanted contact.
  • Follow section-specific instructions posted by moderators.
  • Use the report feature instead of escalating a violation publicly.

PROHIBITED CONDUCT

  • Harassment, bullying, targeted humiliation, or coordinated dogpiling.
  • Credible threats, encouragement of violence, stalking, or intimidation.
  • Hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
  • Publishing or threatening to publish private information.
  • Following a member between threads to provoke or insult them.
  • Sexual harassment or unwanted sexual comments.
  • Impersonating another member, moderator, Sony employee, developer, journalist, or public figure.
  • Encouraging self-harm, suicide, or dangerous behavior.
  • Creating callout threads intended to mobilize harassment.

Profanity alone is not automatically a violation. Context matters. Profanity used casually is different from profanity used to threaten, degrade, or repeatedly target somebody.

Do not fight moderation battles inside the thread. Report the content and continue the discussion normally. Public retaliation can result in action against every participant involved.

Zero-tolerance conduct may result in an immediate permanent ban without a prior warning.

02 · PROHIBITED AND UNSAFE CONTENT

PSN.GG is a gaming community, not an adult-content host, shock site, or distribution point for dangerous material.

NEVER POST OR LINK TO

  • Child sexual abuse material or sexualized content involving minors.
  • Pornography, explicit nudity, sexual services, or fetish content.
  • Graphic gore, real-world death footage, or extreme violence posted for shock value.
  • Malware, credential stealers, token grabbers, ransomware, or malicious downloads.
  • Phishing pages, fake login forms, fraudulent giveaways, or impersonated support pages.
  • Doxxing, leaked personal information, private addresses, private phone numbers, or financial information.
  • Instructions intended to facilitate serious crime or immediate physical harm.
  • Terrorist propaganda, recruitment, or praise for real-world extremist violence.
  • Stolen payment information, account credentials, session tokens, cookies, or access keys.
  • Content that infringes copyright when you do not have permission to distribute it.

GAME-RELATED EXCEPTIONS

Discussion of mature games is permitted when it is relevant and presented responsibly. Screenshots or clips containing ordinary in-game violence may be discussed, but graphic material should not be posted merely to shock other members.

When discussing sensitive story content:

  • Clearly identify the game.
  • Warn members before major spoilers.
  • Avoid graphic thumbnails when a text description is sufficient.
  • Do not use sensitive topics as bait.

When uncertain, describe the content instead of embedding it. A moderator can advise whether the media is appropriate.

Illegal content may be preserved as evidence and reported to the appropriate service provider or authority when legally required.

03 · POSTING QUALITY

Post in the most relevant board and make the subject understandable before somebody opens it.

THREAD REQUIREMENTS

  • Use a clear, descriptive title.
  • Choose the correct board and thread prefix.
  • Explain the subject in the opening post.
  • Credit the original source when reporting news or sharing another creator’s work.
  • Search briefly before creating a duplicate thread.
  • Keep replies reasonably connected to the thread topic.

LOW-QUALITY POSTING

The following may be removed, merged, locked, or moved:

  • Titles such as “help,” “look,” “question,” or “important” without context.
  • Duplicate threads covering the same event or question.
  • Repeated bumps that add no new information.
  • One-word replies posted only to increase a post count.
  • Copying the same reply into multiple threads.
  • Posting unrelated arguments inside another member’s thread.
  • Reopening an old inactive discussion without adding meaningful information.
  • Posting entirely in capital letters or using deliberately unreadable formatting.
  • Quote walls that repeat a large post without addressing it.

SPOILERS

PSN.GG’s current forum BBCode does not provide a dedicated spoiler tag. Until one is available:

  • Put the game title and “[SPOILERS]” in the thread title.
  • Place a clear warning before spoiler-heavy text.
  • DO NOT place major spoilers in titles, avatars, signatures, or preview text.

Moderators may rename, move, merge, or lock content to keep the forum organized. These administrative changes are not automatically disciplinary actions.

04 · LINKS, MEDIA, AND PROMOTION

Links should support a discussion—not replace one.

ALLOWED LINKS

  • Official PlayStation, publisher, developer, and game pages.
  • Relevant news articles, videos, guides, and research.
  • Personal channels or projects when directly relevant to the discussion.
  • Canonical X and Instagram posts embedded through the forum editor.
  • Images from reputable hosts when you have permission to share them.

Use the supported formats:

Source title

View this post on Instagram

Raw scripts, HTML, JavaScript, and iframe code are not permitted. Social embeds must use the editor’s supported X or Instagram controls.

SPAM AND LINK ABUSE

  • Do not repeatedly advertise a website, server, channel, referral code, or product.
  • Do not send unsolicited promotional private messages.
  • Do not use URL shorteners to conceal a destination.
  • Do not post affiliate links without clearly identifying them.
  • Do not create link-farm, SEO, backlink, or keyword-stuffing posts.
  • Do not post fake downloads, fake giveaways, engagement bait, or misleading buttons.
  • Do not bypass link filters by inserting spaces, punctuation, or altered spellings.
  • Do not automate posting, reacting, following, messaging, or account creation.

Members may share their own content when it genuinely contributes to the topic. Accounts created primarily for promotion may be restricted or removed.

Promotion should be occasional, transparent, and relevant. If every contribution points to the same external destination, it will be treated as spam.

05 · ACCOUNT AND IDENTITY RULES

Each member is responsible for activity performed through their account.

ACCOUNT STANDARD

  • Use one personal account unless PSN.GG staff has approved another account for a documented purpose.
  • Use a valid email address that you control.
  • Keep your password and two-factor authentication credentials private.
  • Notify support promptly if you believe your psn.gg account has been compromised.
  • Use the official account recovery process instead of creating a replacement account.

PROHIBITED ACCOUNT ACTIVITY

  • Ban evasion or creating an account for a suspended member.
  • Operating coordinated accounts to manipulate reactions, reputation, vouches, followers, polls, or discussions.
  • Sharing, selling, renting, or transferring a PSN.GG account.
  • Impersonating staff or falsely displaying staff authority.
  • Using disposable email services or falsified registration information.
  • Attempting to identify, track, or expose another member through technical information.
  • Testing stolen credentials or attempting to access another member’s account.

USERNAMES

Usernames must not contain spaces and must follow the current registration format.

Usernames may not:

  • Impersonate PSN.GG, Sony, PlayStation, staff, or another member.
  • Contain slurs, explicit sexual language, threats, or personal information.
  • Misrepresent an official company, product, service, or support department.
  • Be selected primarily to harass another member.

Members with a legacy username containing spaces should use the corrective rename option presented by PSN.GG. Abuse of a corrective rename path may result in the name being reversed and the account being reviewed.

Shared household or network does not automatically mean shared identity. If multiple legitimate people in one household need accounts and encounter a security restriction, contact PSN.GG Support.

06 · PLAYSTATION INTEGRITY

PSN.GG celebrates legitimate PlayStation activity and trophy achievement.

PROHIBITED ACTIVITY

  • Trophy timestamp manipulation.
  • Save modification or save injection used to unlock trophies.
  • Instant-platinum or trophy-unlock services.
  • Selling or purchasing PSN accounts.
  • Advertising paid account boosting or account recovery services.
  • Falsely claiming ownership of a PSN profile.
  • Using another person’s credentials to verify or synchronize their account.
  • Submitting fabricated evidence during a trophy-integrity review.
  • Harassing members because their account has been flagged for review.

ALLOWED DISCUSSION

  • Legitimate cooperative trophy sessions.
  • Matchmaking and looking-for-group discussions.
  • Walkthroughs, guides, accessibility strategies, and ordinary gameplay exploits.
  • Reporting unobtainable, bugged, discontinued, or server-dependent trophies.
  • Discussing cheating news or detection methods without distributing tools or instructions.

A cooperative session becomes prohibited when it involves account access, payment for trophy completion, manipulated game data, or another violation of PlayStation’s rules.

Profiles may be flagged when available evidence indicates manipulated trophy data. A flag is a data-integrity measure and should not be used as permission to harass the account owner.

Appeal trophy-related decisions with evidence. Useful evidence can include legitimate timestamps, gameplay records, support correspondence, or details explaining a synchronization anomaly.

07 · STORE AND PAYMENT RULES

PSN.GG operates an official shop/store and may provide memberships, profile enhancements, and downloadable products.

PSN.GG does not operate an open member-to-member marketplace.

OFFICIAL TRANSACTIONS

  • Use only payment methods displayed during the official PSN.GG checkout.
  • Review the product description, compatibility information, and license before purchase.
  • Download purchases only through your PSN.GG download library.
  • Contact support if payment succeeds but access is not granted.
  • Keep payment confirmations and transaction references private.

PROHIBITED COMMERCE ACTIVITY

  • Selling or trading PSN accounts.
  • Selling trophy unlocking, boosting, recovery, or account-access services.
  • Posting unauthorized member-to-member sales listings.
  • Redirecting users to an imitation PSN.GG checkout.
  • Requesting payment through private messages while claiming to represent PSN.GG.
  • Reselling, redistributing, or publicly sharing restricted digital downloads.
  • Submitting fraudulent chargebacks or knowingly using unauthorized payment details.
  • Exploiting pricing, membership, coupon, or entitlement errors.

Crypto payments, when enabled, must be completed through the official PSN.GG checkout and its configured payment processor. Staff will never ask a member to send cryptocurrency directly to a personal wallet through a forum post or private message.

A PSN.GG username, badge, membership, or staff-style profile does not prove that an external payment request is legitimate.

If a transaction appears suspicious, stop and contact PSN.GG Support before sending payment.

09 · MODERATION AND ENFORCEMENT

PSN.GG uses automated safeguards and human moderation.

Automated systems may hold, hide, or flag suspicious content. A flag does not always mean the content violated a rule; moderators can review context before final action.

HOW TO REPORT CONTENT
  • Allow moderators time to investigate.

For account, payment, privacy, or security matters, contact PSN.GG Support.

POSSIBLE ACTIONS
Depending on severity, context, and account history, staff may apply:
  • An informal reminder.
  • A formal warning.
  • Content editing, removal, merging, or locking.
  • Temporary posting, messaging, profile, or reaction restrictions.
  • Reputation, vouch, follower, or reaction corrections.
  • Temporary account suspension.
  • Permanent account removal.
  • Removal of illegitimate linked profiles, awards, groups, or entitlements.

Severe cases—including credible threats, doxxing, child sexual abuse material, malware, phishing, fraud, or ban evasion—may result in immediate permanent action.

APPEALS
A professional appeal should include:
  • Your PSN.GG username.
  • The action you are appealing.
  • The relevant thread, post, or account information.
  • Why you believe the action was incorrect or disproportionate.
  • Any evidence the moderator may not have seen.

Threats, repeated tickets, chargeback threats, alternate accounts, and public harassment do not improve an appeal.

Moderators are expected to enforce policy—not personal disagreements. Good-faith questions and well-supported appeals are welcome. Abuse of staff is not.
