Sony has launched a PlayStation Plus promotion tied to Tokyo Game Show. Before you read further: this is a Southeast Asia offer, and it will not apply to a US, UK or European account.
The offer
Running 17 September to 30 September:
- New members joining PlayStation Plus can save up to 25% on a 12-month membership.
- Existing members can save on the remainder of their membership when upgrading their current plan to PlayStation Plus Extra or Deluxe.
Sony has not published the exact upgrade discount, so check the price on your own account before committing — the saving depends on how much of your current term is left.
Is it worth taking?
If you were going to renew anyway, a 12-month term at up to 25% off is the cheapest PS Plus normally gets outside a major sale event, and annual plans already carry the best per-month rate.
The upgrade side is the more interesting half this month. September's Game Catalog is unusually strong for Extra members — WWE 2K26 and RuneScape: Dragonwilds arrived on 15 September, with Ball x Pit and Slitterhead on 22 September and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Dungeons of Hinterberg and Sniper Elite: Resistance on 29 September.
Upgrading part-way through a term you have already paid for is usually the worst-value way to buy PS Plus. A discount on exactly that is the part of this promotion that changes the maths.
A reminder on regions
Buying a subscription outside your account's region is against PlayStation's terms of service, and Sony does enforce it. If your account is not registered in a participating Southeast Asian country, this promotion is not for you — wait for your own region's next offer.
