Update, 22 September 2026: The show has now ended. Sunday 20 September went ahead as the final day; Monday 21 September was cancelled.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 cancelled its final day. Monday 21 September did not go ahead, as Typhoon No. 25 — internationally named Dujuan — approached Japan.
Organisers cited forecasts of strengthening wind and rain from the afternoon onward, and the risk of transport disruption around the Makuhari Messe venue in Chiba.
What this changes
TGS 2026 was the show's 30th anniversary and its first-ever five-day run, 17–21 September. It ended after four.
- Sunday 20 September went ahead as the final day.
- Monday 21 September is cancelled outright.
If you had a ticket
Tickets for 21 September will be refunded. CESA has directed buyers to follow the refund procedure of whichever platform they bought through, rather than contacting the show directly.
If you were watching from home
Some of the stage events scheduled for the 21st may still be streamed online as official broadcasts — that depends on whether the venue can be operated safely, and has not been confirmed.
Anything you were planning to watch on Monday should be treated as unconfirmed until organisers say otherwise.
What you have already missed nothing of
The major publisher announcements landed earlier in the week. Atlus reconfirmed the next mainline Persona for PS5, Attack on Titan 3 was dated for 10 December, and Toshinden Collection was announced for 2027.
PlayStation's booth — the only major platform holder exhibiting — ran its GTA 6 theatre alongside playable Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Marvel's Wolverine and Ace Combat 8.
The cancelled day was a public day, not a reveal day. The news is done; it is the attendees who lose out.
